He owned an inn called "De Clocke" in Audernard. This avant-garde hotel was located on the Franco-German trade route. Roman owned an inn, a farm, a mill, a malt house and a brewery. At the time, brewing was only one of the many activities that were carried out here. Over time, as successive generations took the helm, beer became the family's main activity. For nearly five centuries, the tradition of brewing has been passed down from father to son, and today the brewery is run by the 12th generation of the family.</p>
